San Pedro de las Colonias in the state of Coahuila, Mexico. This is a small town not so far from the US border where there is an unusually high rate of heroin use. This is quite a rare occurence in Mexico, even though heroin is produced on a large scale to meet the huge demand in the United States, there is very little evidence of widespread addiction - except this place. Supposedly migrant workers coming back home already addicted to the drug after spending time on the other side of the border, influenced the adolescents of San Pedro and so began the craziness…
